Know everything about - The Ambani - Piramal Wedding!

What stormed the internet and news, towards the end of 2018, was perhaps the most expensive marriage in the world, the scions of the business tycoons, Mukesh Ambani and Ajay Piramal.
In one of the most exuberant events, Isha Ambani and Anand Piramal, over hundreds of luxury cars including Mercedes, BMW and Jaguars were sent out to pick up the guests. A grand-affair began on the 8th December, in Udaipur where multiple 5-star hotels were booked for the guests who were picked from the airport.

For the extravagant marriage and wedding ceremony, the guest list included former President of India Pranab Mukherjee, former US First Lady Hillary Clinton, Bollywood stars Priyanka Chopra and husband Nick Jonas, the Bachchan family and the who's who of the worlds of business, showbiz and politics were invited.
While the expenses of the marriage was rumoured to be $100 million, the actual cost of the campaign is was revealed to be $15 million. Most of the events took place at Udaivilas, in the city. A Swadesh Bazaar was set up for guests, where the Ambanis and Piramals provided a platform for Indian traditional artisans to display their craft. After dinner, guests were treated to an evening of romantic tracks. Bollywood singer Arijit Singh payed a tribute to Isha and Anand's love story with the best of his tracks. Arijit Singh's live performance made way for the family sangeet, where the Ambanis and Piramals celebrated the union of their children with music and dance performances. There was an after-party scheduled too. Karan Johar the presenter of the talk show “Koffee with Karan”, also performed at the wedding.

While the world kept talking about their luxurious affair, not many know that the Ambani and Piramal families have been friends for over four decades. Isha and Anand were childhood friends who fell in love with each other. Mukesh and Nita Ambani and Ajay and Swati Piramal's friendship dates back to the 70’s. Isha and Anand both studied in Ivy League colleges. Isha graduated from Stanford University in the US, while Anand pursued his MBA at the Harvard Business School. The main ceremony will was held at the patriarch’s home, the 27-story Antilia palace in Mumbai, and post-wedding events were also held in the city. The veteran celebrity Amitabh Bachchan gave a kanyadan speech which the world will always remember as the highlight of the family.

People even today remembers the expenses made in the wedding while nobody focuses on the kindness they showed towards the poor. The Ambani and Piramal families kickstarted the wedding festivities in Udaipur with a special Anna Seva, wherein they fed 5,100 people each day, from the 7th to 10th December, three times a day. The Anna Seva took place at the Narayan Seva Sansthan in Udaipur.
Not just this, Mukesh Ambani on an annual basis donates Rupees 600 crores to charity. His wife Nita Ambani is also involved in a number of philanthropic activities.
Today, as people in the country fight poverty and struggle to get the basic necessities of life such as food and affording their medical treatment. The Ambani and Piramal family are an epitome of hard work and dedication. Their contribution is taken as an example of the impact the donations to each individual with healthcare worries can make.
